DayBask padded out of the warriors den, into the sunny camp of ThunderClan. He yawned, after his short, 5 minute nap. The tom quickly groomed his ginger fur.
The tom eyed the entrance. Maybe he could get to know his clanmates a bit more if he went on a patrol or walk with one of them. A breeze blew through his fur, chilling the tom and ruffling his pelt.
"Maybe today I will get to know a new clanmate a little more." DayBask said softly to himself. It was an odd habit, talking to himself all the time. He didn't notice. After the tom was clean of moss, DayBask padded around camp, seeming still tired but in his mind completely alert. He was willing to talk to anyone. It was his nature.

Bluefire calmly sat just outside of the lush, green warrior's den. He was giving himself a good groming, for he had just came back from a solo hunting. The large tom brought back two plump squirrels, a shrew, and three mice. It had been added on to an earlier catch by another cat, who haden't brought back much.
Suddently, a whir of ginger fur moved out of the den. Bluefire jumped and held back a hiss of annoyance. Warriors these days... Bluefire wasn't usually this grumpy, but he was tired after leading the sun-high patrol over by RiverClan's boarders, and hunting just a bit ago.
Bluefire's cold green eyes watched, as the warrior padded what for seemed like forever around camp. Doesn't this dumb cat ave anything better to do? He let out a small growl to himself. What was wrong with him today? Why couldn't he just leave the topic alone. Oh, right. It was Green-Leaf. And he had a long, thick, hot pelt. Maybe that's why he was so grumpy. Thankfully, most of ThunderClan territory was under the cool canopy of trees, but today was exceptionaly hot.

DayBask turned, catching the slight growl that emitted from his clanmate. He nodded to the tom, sympathy in his eyes for the obviously tired and grouchy tom.
"Hello, Bluefire." he meowed, "Is there a problem?"

Bluefire nodded to Daybask, wishing he could have some peace. Aparently not. He never minded talking, and he was usually a social butterfly, but right now, he was tired. He knew the warrior's den would be hot, along with Leopardstar's nest that they normally shared. Although, at this time of year, Bluefire decided to make his own nest close to hers, because of the horrible heat of Green-Leaf.
The blue tom ditched the idea of sleeping, so he padded over to the ginger tom in the center of camp, but first making a stop at the fresh-kill pile to pick up one of the two squirrels he caught. Dropping it down with a thump, he looked at Daybask. "Wanna share?" He completely ignored the question the other tom had asked before.

DayBask looked towards Bluefire, his light ginger fur neat. The tom looked down at the swiftly killed squirrel. His mouth watered as he had not eaten since early the day before.
"Yes, thank you." he mewed, nodding again to Bluefire. Green eyes met as he spoke, wondering why the other tom had chosen sharing two squirrels over the sleep he definitely did need.
Pawing at the squirrel for a moment, a few golden hairs were left on his paw. They almost matched but his fur was a light ginger; lighter than most definitions of the color. DayBask gave Bluefire a look, blinking to him as if to say You can sleep.

Bluefire smirked, grabbing a mouse on his way back to the leader's den. He trodded in, gulped down the mouse, and curled up in his nest. Within seconds, sleep had taken over the large tom.

"Alright.." DayBask replied, "Have a good rest." he took a chunk from the squirrel. He shook his pale ginger pelt when he finished the prey. His paws itched to walk, so he gave in to it and padded out of camp.
On DayBask's slow walk around the edges of camp, he nodded to other cats and watched prey scurry by.

Soulfire was outside of the camp, licking up some water from the moss pile. Hearing a cat walking out of the camp, her ear swiveled to catch more of the sound and she sniffed the air. Turning her head she glared at Daybask. "Why are you always so noisy?" She hissed in agitation.

"Do you have a problem with my state of being?" DayBask asked in his laid-back tone of voice. The clouds sped, racing over head and the breeze mottled his voice. His green eyes were aimed towards Soulfire; green as the grass beneath his paws. The stones he aimed to go to were just past her; though things could wait. He usually let the day run it's course before doing what he ever had in mind that day.
It might bother another cat, what the cat had said to him. But not DayBask. Maybe it was that he was just to laid-back and careless about everything. He probably wouldn't be the best leader. Not at all. But he was kind, happy with himself. DayBask's paws twitched to walk again; as they did when he was slow.
He waited for Soulfire to reply to his quickly returned question. Everything ran through his head so quickly he would forget what he would say just after he had said it.

Soulfire hissed in annoyance and turned to face Daybask, her tail fluffing out in rage. "Mousebrain! No matter if I have a problem or not with you doesn't mean that you won't scare away prey with your stomping about the forest. I'm pretty sure just because its Greenleaf that Leopardstar won't be happy with all the prey in their burrows in the middle of the day." She mewed angrily. "And you can alert a fox across the forest with how load you were walking." She sighed and shook herself to make her fur lie flat.[/color]

DayBask blinked, twitching his tail, "It is green-leaf, and our Clan is small. Do not worry about about the prey, we have more than enough; Bluefire's catch could feed the whole clan for two days." the tom was very reassuring to himself, usually always having something to say in reply to another cat.
A mouse scurried by, and though DayBask sensed it he let it pass, the brown fur on it's pelt rustling. The sun was starting to fall; the sky still bright even though the sun was no longer visible. He wondered how dark it was in ShadowClan; the thick woods there made it seem dark in the lightest day and humid or cold in a heat wave.
DayBask did not take any insult from her tone of voice or intense words. They bounced off of him like sunlight. He waited for a response from the cat he did not yet know the name of.

Bluefire padded out of the den, unable to sleep. He had no idea why, but he was still tired, and couldn't seem to close his eyes for more than a few mere seconds. He narrowed his eyes to the brightness, and slicked back to Daybask. He pricked his ears as he listed to him and Soulfire's annoying voice. "Can't you just shut up? Why do you have to pick on every cat in this clan? Oh, except for Leopardstar, sorry. He harshly hissed, his eyes flickering in anger at Soulfire's rudeness. Hm, I wonder where she got it from? Mother maybe? His sarcatic thought was true. She had gotten her horrible attitude from their mother. His father was more like him. Bold, sociable, and hard-headed. Not one of his better traits, but, oh well.
He sat next to Daybask, their pelts brushing lightly. "Excuse my sister, she can be quite the brat." He snickered, making sure Soulfire could hear his voice loud and clear before looking at her in the eyes.

DayBask looked over at Bluefire, not wanting to be caught in the quarrel of siblings that he knew was bound to spark. He said nothing, but tried to find similarities in the two cats; they seemed so very different from each other. Green eyes looked down at the ground, withdrawing himself.

Bluefire just lashed his tail, trying to defend Daybask. Why can't she keep her thoughts to herself? She's worse than mom ever was. He turned to the tom next to him. "Do you want to got somewhere else? She's only going to keep raving if I know her."

Firetail had been observing the argument from a small distance away. He shuffled his paws nervously, eyes unblinking. He gave the other cats prolonged stares.
"Luh-look guys. It's hot out. Maybe we should just take a step back from each other..." Flametail said quietly, wondering if anyone would hear him. His stutter was coming out. Firetail hadn't been awake for too long, but long enough the stress was already building up inside of him. The arguing did not help the fact it was hot, actually it seemed to make things worse.
