As shadows of the night consumed the sun, cats of all kinds were getting ready for another night as one. Not just of a clan, but of an organized nation of nature and grace. They'd hold in their claws this time for their ansestor's sake, but even peaceful gatherings such as these could drive most cats over the edge. However, in some hearts this was the adventure of a life time. Foreign cats of all territories would be meeting under a full moon, rejoycing in the beautiful night of the seasons to come. They would be speaking of life, death, cruelty, blessings, and hopefully an abundance of prey and health. Even though the past seasons had been rough, the clans had grown stronger than before. The small silver leader could only hope they wouldn't use their strength to wear out one another in the future.
Bliss'star stood at the wetrock, her pelt moving with the breeze. Even though she was small and quiet, she could really look bold and strong. Moonlight lit up half of her fur, most of it fading to the shadows. She lifted her ears, waiting for the right signal to burst from camp and head toward Fourtrees. She always waited for a whisper, the hum of a hollow tree, or even an unusual flick of a tree branch. The she-cat let her eyes scan over her clanmates, a smile emerging on her face. These were great cats, all loyal, strong, and hardworking. They deserved a night off to mingle. She raised her tail, signaling them to quiet down. Closing her eyes, she began to listen, focusing on the world around her. She stood there for a while, just listening. Listening for the right signal. Hoping to get there soon, but she couldn't rush her ansestors.
Snap! A branch cracked in the distance, making the leader's eyes snap open. She raised her tail proudly, signaling them to move. She lept down the highrock, landing gleefully on her paws before following the stream of pelts as moving from their island home. They swam through the river, their pelts drying as they continued to run with a constant speed. They weren't moving as fast as usual, trying to direct new apprentices and let them keep up. They wouldn't go so easy on them next gathering. Eventually, the silver leader moved back to the front with her deputy, giving Lightningstripe a calm nod. She took over the lead, moving in front with her paws thundering at the ground. Her heart was pounding with her movements, excitement exploding inside of her. Fourtrees was getting larger and larger as they approached. Branches tore at the sky from those four oaks, leaves clinging to their twigs as the wind shook the hollow for a moment. Bliss'star began to slow down, her clanmates copying her. There it was, the RiverClan entrace. She ducked into the hollow, standing next to the open hole as her clanmates moved in. They were the first ones to arrive! How unexpected...where could their neighbors be?

Stick to the Shadows~~
The breeze gently brushed each ShadowClan cat's pelt as they tread over marshes and through trees. Miststar, a silver tabby, proudly stood at the head of her clan, silently signaling to two cats on everything. The direction of the wind, if any clans were nearby... Everything. The clan silently moved in the dark territory cloaked in sheer, unbroken silence. A mentor angrily hissed to his apprentice, who had stuck to the bark of a tree, as the twin apprentices- Miststar's nieces- looked up at the pines longingly.
"I declare, the night is wonderful." A cat said rather loudly, but he was soon silenced by Veilpaw, a calico she-cat, stuffing her fluffy tail in his mouth. Miststar glared at the adult cat with a look that screamed hatred, and ShadowClan continued walking, dark and light pelts alike making the shape of geese in flight. When two great oaks came into sight, the silver tabby looked up at them before charging down one of the slopes that served as the entrance to Fourtrees. RiverClan had just arrived. Miststar dismissed her clan with a flick of her tail.
The ShadowClan leader had never really said much to Bliss'star at the leader meeting.
"Bliss'star," Miststar began, "If you would excuse my- rather rude behavior at the meeting, I'd like to suggest we make an alliance between our two clans, if you would like to do so. We are perhaps the most similar to each other, as far as clans go- and for this reason, I think our clans together would be great."
That had been an impulsive move.

Nightfrost padded along the dark ground. His grey fur glistened in the night as the moonlight caught the droplets of water that still clung to his fur. It's a beautiful night, he thought, glancing at the forest around him as his clan made their way to Fourtrees. The full moon lit up the territory in a way that was both serene and eerie. The entire world seemed to be bathed in an ethereal, silver glow; the night made everything look so different. He looked at the faces of the cats he was travelling with; they too shone with a pearly light. Even Fawnflight, his sister who he had known since birth, seemed to be more serious and mysterious in this light than he truly knew her to be.
As they began to near the gathering, the dark tom sighed and shook his head. Listen to me, he thought, I sound like some awestruck kit out of the camp for the first time. He chuckled. I really need to stop getting so carried away. The forest looks like this every single gathering; I don't know why it's got to me this time.
He ducked into the hollow, following his leader, and emerged from the other side. The clearing was empty. He blinked and looked around. Huh. Looks like we're the first ones here. For a moment, he just stood, not entirely certain what to do next. I guess we'll just wait for everyone else to show up. He moved to the edge of the clearing and sat, waiting for something to happen.
It wasn't long before the ShadowClan cats turned up. He scanned the faces of the newcomers, looking for anyone he recognized. He caught sight of a black apprentice he believed was named Stormpaw; he had narrowly stopped the hotheaded ShadowClan cat from attacking a RiverClan apprentice during the last gathering. At least it seems like he's being watched more carefully this time. he noted, spotting an older black and white cat watching the young tom like a hawk. Hopefully he won't cause any more trouble.
Nightfrost listened at Miststar, the ShadowClan leader, spoke to Bliss'star. An alliance? he thought, With ShadowClan? I doubt it, but I'm not the leader. It's for Bliss'star to decide. He curled his tail around his paws and looked around, waiting for everyone else to arrive._____________________

Post by Rookfall on Jul 1, 2012 14:25:21 GMT -5
Rookfall blinked in satisfaction as RiverClan arrived, lifting his nose to scent the sweet night air. They were the first there, which was only to be expected. He generally disliked Gatherings, but they were always an excellent opportunity to display the inherent superiority of his Clan. Punctuality, for one, he thought pointedly. Apparently the others didn't take a meeting demanded by StarClan quite as seriously. The idea made the small, shriveled part of him still able to feel happy squirm. Any reason to loathe the other Clans, besides the obvious, of course, was a cherished opportunity. His pleased musings were interrupted in short order by the stench of ShadowClan wafting in on the breeze. The dappled tom laid his ears back in distate as they flooded into Fourtrees, smelling just like the filthy territory they thrived in. How they could stand it, he'd never know, but he suspected it had something to do with every single one of them being brain-damaged from having to live with themselves. A single cat picked itself out of the group, a silver tabby. Miststar, he realized, and then she began to speak to his own leader.
"Bliss'star, if you would excuse my- rather rude behavior at the meeting, I'd like to suggest we make an alliance between our two clans, if you would like to do so. We are perhaps the most similar to each other, as far as clans go- and for this reason, I think our clans together would be great."
It took all of his restraint not to hiss with surprise, no matter how badly he wished to. It was a challenge, as well, to resist counseling- with some rather strong words- Bliss'star against even considering it. He wasn't the deputy, as strange as that was, and what was more was that speaking against his Clan leader in front of a rival would make Bliss'star seem weak, too easily influenced by any member of her Clan that happened to shout something inanely to the sky. So he merely waited and watched, pale yellow eyes burning with dislike as he gazed at Miststar. His claws were practically itching to answer for Bliss'star, but he mustn't. Some sickly part of him wanted desperately for this Gathering to go wrong. Digging his teeth into a ShadowClan warrior sounded especially tempting tonight, with their leader mocking his own so blatantly. That was clearly what the offer was, wasn't it? ShadowClan had so much pretentious mousedung for brains that any suggestion of alliance couldn't possibly be serious, he assumed. With this presumption possessing his brain, he had no care for why the other Clans were not yet present, and might have stopped noticing altogether.
It would have gratified him to know that anyone- in this case, Nightfrost- agreed with him, even if on a small, and far less aggressive level. Unfortunately, he did not, and he was all the more defensive because of it, the fur on his neck half-raised. His face was a carefully calm mask, though it seemed constantly on the edge of breaking out into a snarl.

Silverstream followed close behind her leader, trying her best to keep up. The cooler breeze that ruffled her fur made her stiffen. It was very cold to her bones, and it made her muscles sore. Yet she did not complain. She kept her senses on alert. Silverstream had been to many of these meetings, and this would not be any different.
When Riverclan finally made their way to four trees, she flicked her ears foward curiously. So...the Shadowclan leader wished to make an alliance? This was not unusual for clans, but with Shadowclan? Silverstream was curious to know if Bliss'star would accept. Shadowclan could be shady, and Silverstream had heard stories of the great temper that resided inside of Miststar.
Silverstream was standing near Rookfall, a fellow Riverclan warrior - although much younger than herself. Rookfall seemed a bit agitated, not unusual for him either. Silverstream didn't believe that any cat (other than the Shadowclan members of course) were very comfortable around Miststar.
Silverstream noticed the rising fur on Rookfall, and she blinked. "Calm yourself, Rookfall." The elder warrior whispered in a quiet breath, "Anger is dangerous right now." __________________________________________________ "Rejoice in your youth. You won't have it long."

ShadowClan was almost first in line for a gathering spot, but luckily the RiverClanners got to claim their toasty area to sit this gathering. Familiar scents of pine flooded her nostrils. Unlike her clanmates, she never really did find scents distracting and obnoxious. Scents to her was a trademark of your loyalties, even if it did smelt from a range of rosemary to rotting crowfood. It was who you stayed true to. Sure, sometimes a few cats embraced it a little to much that she wanted to dunk them in the river, but hey, a scent is a scent. She opened her mouth, a few memorable names matching as the ShadowClan cats thundered in as they had done every gathering. These cats either appeared confident or secretive at gathering--sometimes even both. As she stood in the clearing greeting the other warriors, she was spoken to by a familiar voice.
"I'd like to suggest we make an alliance between our two clans, if you would like to do so."
That statement definately seemed to turn heads. Bliss'star turned, eyeing the other silver tabby she-cat with her own violet-blue gaze, suspiciously studying her facial expressions. An alliance? she blinked, an unsure face replacing her usual smile. How could ShadowClan be in trouble in Green-Leaf? Or maybe she's planning something against ThunderClan and WindClan...Miststar wasn't to comfortable with the other two she-cats at their leader meeting. The reminder of that night made her fur almost go on end. She shook the thought away, laying her ears back on her head. Taking a step back, she stood a little taller, searching in her eyes for some sort of glint. What are her intensions?
"I...will think about this. When I have my answer, I will notify you, Miststar," she murmured. She would talk to her deputy and a few warriors after the gathering, that's for sure. Both of their clans were strong and independant now, it wasn't unusual to ask for some sort of alliance. It was a tempting offer, thinking of all the possibilities this could mean for the two clans. They could place a little trading, spy on the clans, and protect eachother if they were in trouble or needed some type of defense. However, she didn't want to use her warrior's blood for Miststar's devious plots or put her clan in jeopardy. She simply turned after her statement, continuing to greet the oncoming cats.

He was a little ways behind the rest of Shadowclan. He had been on patrol and was running a bit late, not that he minded. Silverfang was a bit nervous and it gave him some time to sort out his feelings.
He had only gone to one other gathering, and that had been a while ago. Silverfang was listening to the elder's stories, and hearing about the other three great leaders. Of course, none of them being as great as Miststar herself.
There's Leopardstar, leader of Thunderclan. With fur like the cat she was named after, she shows mercy to those that deserve it.
Bliss'star, leader of Riverclan. A fluffy silver she-cat with sensative emotons and even more astonishing fighting strategies.
And then there's Moonstar, leader of Windclan. A grey-striped tabby. A thinker and is has a lot more patience.
Silverfang was running over the different names he remembered in his head. Anxiety was only beginning to build up inside of him, anxiety mixed with curiosity. He was hoping he would get the chance to meet the leaders - since he was too scared the first time.
When he finally caught up to the rest of his clan, he spotted one of the leaders. Bliss'star, he guessed, because of her silver fur. His leader, the greatest leader Miststar, was conversing with Bliss'star. Trying to form an alliance? Interesting. Silverfang sat down behind Miststar, observing the Riverclan warriors.

Stick to the Shadows~~
"Yes, please do, Bliss'star." Miststar replied. "Just remember, I wasn't made leader for my health- I actually had traits that are good in a leader- and I know the same goes for you, and all the other leaders. None of us are stupid, you and me included." That was one of Miststar's more calm moments, some cats could realize. Delaying apprentice ceremonies for a kit making a reasonable statement were among the less calm and more ridiculous things she did.
Glancing around for her warriors, Miststar found none. There was a RiverClan warrior who looked particularly agitated, and elder- and Silverfang. Padding over to her warrior, in a low whisper, Miststar said at a pitch that made sure only Silverfang could hear her words
|
[/u] Miststar instructed, "I want you to make sure the ShadowClan warriors are a bit nicer to RiverClan at this gathering. My orders, Silverfang." Before he could reply, she whisked herself away and padded towards the Great Rock. Positioning herself, Miststar wriggled her haunches into the correct formation and sprang onto Great Rock, steadying herself. The silver tabby took a quick breath as gazed out at the cats in awe. This was a great view, and was certainly new to all the leaders... Well, unless they had gone up there when a leader was sick, or something along those lines. It was fantastic. Gently flicking her tail, Miststar stood at the back of the Great Rock. She would go last. The tabby began to ponder. Would Bliss'star accept her offer? It was important to have at least one ally. Prey when you were hungry was good. They would be able to help each other- and more importantly, all three clans wouldn't gang up on ShadowClan- excuse her, both clans- without getting through a resistance that could fight them off in a fair battle. Miststar knew what some other clans probably thought of her, and when a new leader came during her time as leader, they may not be so peaceful. Leopardstar was pacing in her den, her long legs covering the area of the spacious cave in a few steps. What am I going to say? We only have one apprentice, and that's the medicine cat. They're going to think we look weak. Lost in her thoughts, Bluefire was at the entrance of the den, along with the rest of her clan who where patiently waiting for their leader. Bluefire spoke up. "Leopardstar, we have to go. We'll be late if we don't leave now." His voice was calm, confident, and deep. His pelt was neatly groomed, only to be ruffled by bushes and thorns on their journey to Fourtrees.
Leopardstar looked up at his face, softening her eyes and nuzzling his cheek. "I know. Well will leave now." She could hear a few murmurs of relief as she calmly strode out of her den with her chin high. Bluefire followed her out and all the way to the top of the line of cats, since the deputy couldn't attend due to a cold. She stepped beside him and held her tail high, silencing her clan. Once the quieted, she trotted out of the camp, increasing speed as the time passed. When she could, the leopard-like she-cat looked up at the clear, starry sky, wishing she wasn't under so much pressure. This would be the first gathering as leaders for all of Leopardstar, Bliss'star, Moonstar, and Miststar. Ironic how their past leaders all passed to StarClan within the same moon.
The tips of Fourtrees entered Leopardstar's view, and her tail lashed as they pelted through the forest. She wished she could keep running forever, her young, tireless muscles rippling in the moonlit darkness. She started to slow, the rest of ThunderClan doing the same. She took pride in this, and it felt good being at the head. Even Bluefire was behind her now, a smile on his face. She returned it, nodding. He gaze flickered to hole in the bush where they would all pass through, and then plummet down into the clearing. Before sending the signal, she breathed in deeply, the wind blowing in her face. Seems RiverClan and ShadowClan are already here. Wonderful... She frowned at the thought of that wretched clan and their sharp-tonged leader whom she disliked to a burning passion. (OOC: That went out to you, Brightstorm! ^^)
She thought for a moment about this, and flicked her tail high, running down into the hollow, her ever growing clan streaming out behind her. Slowing as the she-cat reached the bottom, she jumped and gazed over the crowd. Wow, cats these days are small. Her line of vision soaring over most cats. Realizing her largeness, she took long steps to the Highrock. Jumping up in only a few leaps, her gold eyes looked at the surface before giving one last jump to the top. Well, at least I'm the first on the rock. A smirk flashed across her broad face, feeling like she had accomplished something even though she really hadn't.

DayBask padded into the fourtrees with his Clan, ThunderClan. He listened intently to the leaders' words as he thought of what he would say if he were ever leader. The tom knew it would be disrespectful to speak at the time. An alliance? He didn't believe in those.
His ginger fur prickled in the cold night. He flicked his ears and looked another way.

"Yes, please do, Bliss'star. Just remember, I wasn't made leader for my health- I actually had traits that are good in a leader- and I know the same goes for you, and all the other leaders. None of us are stupid, you and me included."
The leader had been walking away, but she froze for a moment, flicking an ear toward the ShadowClan leader. Her words were bittersweet, but all truth. Even though Miststar had a snappy temper, she was still a loyal, tough, and smart leader. She had to be, or why would she be leader? One thing she knew about ShadowClan was that their leaders were mysterious and had a strong mind. Their clan strived for ambition and power, or so the stereotype went. The RiverClan leader shook her head, trying to focus back on her little mission. She wanted to make sure her members were comfortable as well as meet new cats from the clans. They wouldn't be friends, but turning them to her friendly side was just her nature. The joke is on them, however, since Bliss'star can really flame up in battle. There is no nice Bliss'star when blood is being shed. It's almost as if she becomes something she's not.
The leader blinked, turning to Silverstream. She looked a little bit stiff. Giving a small sympathedic smile, the silver tabby prodded over to the elder, giving her a warm nuzzle. "Are you alright, Silverstream? You look frozen," she murmurs, gazing at the she-cat with calm eyes. The young leader looked up to this elder. Silverstream had a strong mind, confidence, and even pushed through the windy night to make it here. Most would complain, but not even a harsh mumble escaped from her. She knew how to hold her tougne. She knew when to speak. And most of all, she was wise. Bliss'star wanted to learn as much as she could from this cat.
After a moment, she gazed at Rookfall, a tom she was fond of for his loyalty. His fur was on edge, and she wouldn't be surprised if he would let his claws touch the dew-streaked grass. She gave him a hopeful glance before turning back to the elder.

Post by Rookfall on Jul 1, 2012 17:19:06 GMT -5
"Calm yourself, Rookfall. Anger is dangerous right now."
The tom hadn’t noticed Silverstream next to him, and when she spoke he whipped his head around so fast an ache sprang up in his neck. He gazed at her coolly for a moment, trying to regain his dignity, and his silence was less than pleasant before he finally dipped his sharp muzzle in a curt sort of nod. She was right, of course, but admitting it was difficult. “I know, Silverstream. Thank you for reminding me.” The ‘thank you’ was grating, but all the same he let his pelt lie flat into its sleek form. Elders were to be respected, and Rookfall obeyed that principle as best he could, yet there was little that could take the ragged edge of his temper away from anything he said. By the time he’d settled down enough to sit back on his haunches, Bliss’star was already replying. He listened closely to the silver tabby, eager to hear her reply. His leader’s ears were pressed back; hopefully a sign of refusal. In that, he was disappointed.
"I...will think about this. When I have my answer, I will notify you, Miststar.”
Rookfall’s eyes darkened with disappointment. Perhaps, however, Bliss’star was saving an outright rejection of the offer for when other Clans might not suddenly barge in and witness it. After all, what if ShadowClan and another had made a private alliance already, or something of the kind? There were many reasons why Bliss’star might not give a definite answer just yet, he assured himself. With luck, Miststar would be disappointed in her proposal. He didn’t trust any other Clan as far as he could throw them, no matter how friendly they might seem at the moment. Alliances were worthless, as far as he was concerned- just words made into a promise that could be broken the moment another Clan came along with a better offer.
Mist’star didn’t appear to be irritated about the RiverClan leader’s reply, he observed, mind churning as to why that might be. In fact, she looked perfectly fine about it.
"Yes, please do, Bliss'star. Just remember, I wasn't made leader for my health- I actually had traits that are good in a leader- and I know the same goes for you, and all the other leaders. None of us are stupid, you and me included."
It was only with remembering Silverstream’s counsel that Rookfall’s hackles did not rise. Miststar’s last statement might have been meant benignly, but the paranoid RiverClan warrior couldn’t help but think that it sounded like a cleverly subtle threat. The elder’s words provided a little reassurance. She’d lived for longer than he had, and was therefore undeniably wiser. If she saw no harm in Miststar’s words, there would be a reason why, and Rookfall took some comfort from that. He watched the ShadowClan leader go, but she was lost from his keen gaze in the throng of cats before she appeared on the Highrock. The silvery she-cat padded to the back of it, and it was with some surprise that he realized she intended to go last. From what he’d heard of her, she had an ego the size of the sun. Then again, no rumors were total fact.
Before he could think of anything else to pin against ShadowClan, the heady scent of ThunderClan was already approaching. Rookfall did not even deign to glance at them as they passed, preferring to pretend they were little more than a particularly repugnant piece of crowfood. A small sneer framed his thin face. It was erased as soon as he saw a similar look on Leopardstar’s muzzle, and he flattened his ears to avoid any more unintentional impersonation. The gold leader just thought she was all that, didn’t she? He snorted bitterly, noting she’d strutted her way to the top of the great stone in the center of Fourtrees like she was some sort of celebrity. Then again, didn’t all ThunderClan cats act like that?
But then Bliss’star turned to glance at Silverstream, and his large ears pricked up, curious that she might say something more about ShadowClan’s proposed alliance.
” "Are you alright, Silverstream? You look frozen.”
He gave a mental shrug. It wasn’t what he had been hoping for, but then again that hope had been unreasonable in the first place. Bliss’star’s eyes turned onto him, and he immediately straightened his long spine in an attempt to appear less surly and more like a proper RiverClan warrior- aloof and above all others. There was an expression in her eyes that he couldn’t quite fathom, but it didn’t seem to be negative, so he was not all that worried when she turned away.

Post by Ravenheart on Jul 1, 2012 17:48:32 GMT -5
Ravenheart followed the other ShadowClan cats down the slope into Fourtrees. After they were dismissed by Miststar, he settled himself near several of his clanmates and began to scan the faces in the clearing, looking for one in paticular. After a few seconds, he saw the black pelt he was looking for. "Stormpaw," he hissed quietly, padding over to the young tom, "Didn't I tell you to stay by my side at all times? Honestly, I don't even know why Miststar let you come tonight."
The dark apprentice looked at the older tom with narrowed eyes. "If you didn't want me to come, why didn't you just ask her to leave me behind? I mean, come on, you are my father, I'm sure Miststar would have listened to you." Stormpaw growled.
Ravenheart sighed. "I didn't ask her because she is our leader, and she said you could come; I'm not going to question her judgement." His gaze flickered over to Miststar, then back to his son. "Look, just promise me you'll behave. I don't want a repeat of last time."
Stormpaw's fur bristled. "Okay, first of all, that apprentice was asking for it, and, second of all, I wouldn't have swung at that cat if I had known he was a medicine cat." When Ravenheart's gaze refused to lift, he added, "All right, all right, I promise I'll be good."
The irritation in Ravenheart's eyes faded to affection. "Please do." He brushed his tail against his son's side, then turned his attention to the clan leaders.
An alliance between RiverClan and ShadowClan? he thought, catching a few words exchanged between his leader and the RiverClan leader, Bliss'star. Hmm. I honestly don't know if I could see that working. He shrugged. But I don't know; I guess it could. He glanced around the clearing. What is taking WindClan so long?

Silverstream listened to the conversation curiously, her age ears pointed as far forward as they could stretch. "I...will think about this. When I have my answer, I will notify you, Miststar." Silverstream leaned back a bit, hiding a smile, her tail flicking. A wise desicion her leader has made. If a direct answer was given right now, the reaction could be disastrous.
If Bliss'star had decided a yes, surely Rookfall would of lashed out with something - along with other members that disagreed. And if Bliss'star would of said no, well. Everyone would of had a taste of Miststar's temper.
"Are you alright, Silverstream? You look frozen."
Bliss'stars gentle voice dragged Silverstream out of her thoughts. She moved her gaze to face her leader's. Silverstream laughed softly, "Bliss'star, my dear. I will be fine. Your kindess towards your clan members is unconditional - everyone should learn from that." Silverstream said softly. She half-hoped that Bliss'star wouldn't further ask of her condition. The last thing Silverstream wanted was to be treated more like an elder.
Age means nothing to Silverstream.

The twitchy tom-cat follows Thunderclan towards the four trees. He watched his leader hop onto the rock, a smirk flashing across her face, although Firetail couldn't quite figure out why she was smirking.
He glanced around, spotting Riverclan and Shadowclan - yet no Windclan. Not yet. Firetail heaved a sight; well at least we arn't last. Firetail stood near Bluefire, someone he trusted a bit more and felt more comfortable around.
Although he tried his best to stay still, he couldn't help but constantly twitch his ears. Then his tail. Soon, Firetail was doing an odd little dance in place. For Firetail, it was like simple math.
Anxiety + being surrounded by stranger cats - sleep + twitchyness= Cannot sit still.
Firetail could feel some sort of tension in the air - perhaps from an arguement that occured before the arrival of Thunderclan? __________________________________________________ "Twitchy? I'm not twitchy, I am merely prepared for what may come."
Comments: Sorry this one's a bit short I kind of went brain-dead
