To put it simply, Lightpaw's first Gathering was...hectic. Though she'd like to describe her reaction to tonight's events as shocked, that would be the understatement of the season -- truth be told, she couldn't have been more surprised if a polka-dotted badger had fallen out of the sky and landed on top of the Great Rock.
As the small tabby fulfilled Leopardstar's request and tended to their sick deputy, she cringed as she detected the fear scent emanating from her own pelt. What happens now? Where does ThunderClan stand with the other three Clans? Was war on the horizon? Why did Miststar spew lies and accuse ThunderClan of committing such crimes? What did Leopardstar want with Oakpelt? Would she actually fight this duel against the ShadowClan leader? Did StarClan even approve of this? Mind racing faster than a jackrabbit, Lightpaw forced herself to push these thoughts to the back of her mind. Focus, Lightpaw, she scolded herself as she finished treating her patient. You don't want to slip up and overdose the deputy, of all cats. Thankfully, that did not happen, and the future leader looked a bit better already.
"That ought to do it," Lightpaw murmured, nosing a couple of poppy seeds towards the deputy. "Eat these. They'll help you fall asleep."
Stifling a yawn, Lightpaw glanced around the medicine den, slight uneasiness prickling her fur. It looked a little untidy in here... She couldn't just leave her leftover poultice and herb bits lying around, so she swept away the shreds of leaves and wrapped up the rest of the poultice in an oak leaf to save for later (and, of course, she proceeded to reorganized the herb supply until its appearance met her satisfactions).
Parting her jaws and emitting a huge yawn, her body quivering from ears to tail-tip, the apprentice padded over to her nest and collapsed into the comfy, inviting moss.
It only took her five seconds to fall into a deep sleep. [bg=000000][atrb=border,0,true] |
