Personality:
Ripplestream's best quality is his determination, which some would simply call hard-headedness. Once he has his mind on something, only death can make him give up. Luckily, it hasn't come to that yet. He'll work at something for hours on end if it doesn't cooperate, and he'll sleep where he stands if that's what it takes.
Ripplestream has no problems telling cats how he feels. If he's happy, he'll smile and laugh. If he's euphoric, he will bounce around and sing loudly. If he's angry, he'll yell and bark orders. If he's furious... Yeah, let's just let you use your imagination. He's only flown into a furious rage once, and that was a long time ago. It still was enough for cats to tread carefully around him for a few moons.
Ripplestream often sneaks out at night. Even though she died seasons ago, he still has nightmares about Mistypaw's death. He sleeps away from camp so as to not disturb his Clanmates whenever he tosses and turns and cries out in his dream. He goes back to camp exhausted. When cats ask why he's so tired, he just tells them he didn't sleep well and walks away.

History:
Snowsong was his mother's name. She was the most beautiful she-cat in the Clan. She was cream-colored, with the same green eyes as Ripplekit and his sister, Mistykit. Their father, Pebblestripe, was an exact copy of his son, right down to the silver tabby stripes. Snowsong loved her kits, but she could only do so in StarClan. She died giving birth to her children, and only lived long enough to name them.
Pebblestripe wasn't effected in the least. He didn't love Snowsong. He only mated with her to give kits to the Clan. He hardly noticed his own children, only visiting when it was a downright order from the entire Clan. "No kit should grow up not knowing their father!" was the common phrase tossed at him. The visits were never fun, for either him or his kits. He never complimented them, only criticizing them and training them far too early.
His training methods were so terrible that they drove Mistypaw completely from becoming a warrior. She begged the leader to let her become the medicine cat apprentice. It wasn't until later that the Clan discovered why she was suddenly desperate to not be a warrior. She learned under Cottontail, the medicine cat at the time. When it came time for Ripplekit to become Ripplepaw, he was alone.
Apprentice
Ripplepaw strived during his apprenticeship to earn his father's pride and approval. He wanted it so much that he disregarded his own mentor, Blackheart, in order to follow Pebblestripe around. Blackheart didn't like it. He was harder and tougher on Ripplepaw than Pebblestripe ever was. The apprentice would get back to camp, crawl into his den, and collapse into his nest without even eating. He would be woken up before dawn for training and not get back until the sun was well beyond the horizon.
His exhaustion made his temper shorter than it was. Only two cats got away from his tantrums unscathed: Mistypaw and another apprentice named Tenderpaw. Tenderpaw was a brown tabby with white paws. She was his best friend, because no matter how bad of a mood he was in, she always made him laugh. They might have been mates when they were older, if it weren't for the incident.
The two were out alone around the borders, playing on their own. Neither realized they were at the ShadowClan border, or they were getting dangerously close to the scent-line. Tenderpaw teased him about something and he lunged at her, causing her to squeal and run right across the scent-line. Before Ripplepaw could even blink, a patrol set on her. He watched, hidden in a bush on his own territory, as they tore apart a defenseless apprentice that had crossed the border by accident.
He limped back to camp, too numb to cry at the loss of his best friend. When he got there and told everyone, he at least got sympathy from Blackheart. All Pebblestripe did was stare contemptibly at him, "You should have been stronger. She died because of you."
When Ripplepaw woke up from the haze of anger, he was laying in the medicine den. He learned from Mistypaw that he didn't pass out, he went into a rage and flew at Pebblestripe. Apparently, he'd fought their father and won by ripping out his throat. The only reason he wasn't exiled from the Clan is that Mistypaw told everyone what Pebblestripe did to them as kits. She showed them the scars she got from his training.
Tenderpaw's death made Ripplepaw even more unstable. He didn't just ignore cats now, he snapped at every little thing, talked back to everyone, and completely defied all things in the warrior code. One such time nearly cost him his life, and did Mistypaw hers.
He'd gotten into an argument with one of the older warriors and left the camp. Afterwards, a patrol came back reporting a fox on the territory. Mistypaw snuck away to find her brother, and discovered him dangling from a tree with the fox snapping at this tail. Mistypaw died that day, protecting her older brother.
Warrior/Deputy
Ripplestream was numb for a few moons. He didn't even feel anything during his warrior ceremony, only a pulsing ache that Tenderpaw should have been with him. He didn't have the same fire he did, and it affected the entire Clan. His fighting and hunting became sloppy. He never talked back to anyone anymore, he always did exactly as he was told, and he never spoke anymore. It was driving everyone insane.
One day, they went into a battle against ThunderClan. He didn't think anything of it when he nearly killed a tiny apprentice. What did he care that he nearly ended the life of another cat? He wouldn't have, if another ThunderClan cat hadn't gone crazy and nearly killed him in return. He realized after that battle just how horrible he'd become. The loss of Tenderpaw and Mistypaw had caused him to lose his value of life. Now that he nearly died, he realized just how precious life is. He felt regret on nearly killing that apprentice.
Since then, he's gone back to the argumentive, ill-tempered tom cats know and only a few love. He worked hard to prove himself different from the uncaring idiot he used to be, and was given an apprentice a moon later. Shellpaw was an awkward tom who was prone to random bouts of hysteria. Ripplestream worked with him as well as he could, but to no avail. Shellpaw ended up drowning when one of his hysteric moments swimming.
