Collecting Herbs

Crowfur, Windclan's deputy, had been waiting for Rosenblight to return to her den. When he saw her, Crowfur came out of the shadows of the medicine den to greet her with a report, "Welcome back, Rosenblight! I see you've gathered some chamomile herbs. That's some perfect timing there, because one of the queens is about to give birth now. We could use those herbs to make birthing easier."

((Are we allowed to use NPCs here?))

RosenBlight dropped the chamomile in her mouth in a small pile of fresh herbs, along with a stalk or two of lavender. Her bright blue eyes met his, "Does she have everything necessary for her birth?" the soft-spoken voice of the medicine cat was full of meaning. She didn't want to waste any herbs or not use anything at all for a queen. She sighed at the small stock of herbs so late into the season that spiked most injuries and offspring. There was a faint smell of their most popular herb, tansy, in the den. A few cobwebs were piled and RosenBlight's newly picked herbs were the only other thing with them. ____________________________ dreaming ;; speaking ;; doing ;; thinking chat I hate this roleplay template picture but ah well... and I don't know. "Well I had a few warriors go out to fetch some water for her. The other queens are watching over her and giving her advices and tips on how to give bieth. Is that enough?" Crowfur asked. Since he wasn't a medicine cat or an experienced queen, he didn't know much about birth labor or how to help ease. He just did the best he could to help out the birthing queen until Rosenblight would arrive.

"I need a stick. She's expecting one kitten, right?" RosenBlight mewed, bundling a few dried herbs for the queen that was soon to be a mother. The medicine cat den was dimming, and she quickly sorted the herbs before they may have gotten mixed up. "Probably, I don't know," Crowfur replied when Rosenblight asked if the queen was expecting only one kit. It was impossible for the deputy to know how many kits a queen was bearing as it could be any number inside the belly unless she told him herself. "I'll go get you a stick," the black tom said. Then Crowfur left the camp to go search for a stick. There were no trees around here in Windclan territory, so Crowfur had to go to Fourtrees to find a stick there. The deputy got to Fourtrees and found a stick at the edge of the clearing where the cats hung out during the Gathering. Crowfur picked up the stick and ran all the way back to camp. He returned to Rosenblight and spoke through his mouth holding the stick, "I got the stick." He put it down and asked, "So what are you going to do with it?"

"You know nothing of this. Just don't bother right now." RosenBlight replied, her mixed fur prickling with a slight annoyance. Just the right size. She picked up the stick and rushed to the nursery. JoySparkle was not ready, it would be at least another few hours or even a day. "It is too late for this, Crowfur." her voice was annoyed, having been working all day and now dealing with this. "She is not due for another day or so." Crowfur flinched a little, but kept his fur flat as close to his skin when Rosenblight spoke with annoyance at him. After she went to check on JoySparkle, Rosenblight returned to say that the queen was not ready to give birth yet. "But I saw her spasming and yowling while I was watching the camp," Crowfur said. What the heck was that all about when JoySparkle's kits wasn't due now?

"False labor." Rosenblight replied, "The cat is nervous." she padded out to give JoySparkle the herbs to calm her. Now that it was over, her kit should be born in a day or more. Now would be too early; the kitten would die. ((Sorry for the late reply; I had a long day. I went to the dentist to get my teeth clean, I had lunch at a diner, then I drew a few pictures for my Deviant Art account, and finally I got my hair washed and dried.))

Crowfur followed Rosenblight to the nursery and said, "False labor? Boy, that really fooled me. Well I'm glad all's well. Anyway, sorry to bother you and take up your time. I guess I'll leave you to get back with your business." Then he left the nursery to get back into the clearing. He sat on the grass and watched the kits play while the elders shared tongues and ate their food. 'False labor, I had no idea that kind of thing exists. That's my first time I've seen and heard of it. Joysparkle really had everybody worried there,' he thought.

"Rosenblight? Do you need me to go help the queen while you get some other herbs needed?" he young apprentice asked.
