{ ColdCry }
[ -- ColdCry hooked his claws onto the Burnt Sycamore, the crumbling wood at a high chance of giving way to his warrior weight. His pools of ice blue eyes indifferent, ColdCry continued his climb, to the top, where the ashes still smelled like they'd been recently burned.
The tom looked down at the ground, green grass growing at the roots, a soft landing indeed.
"ColdCry, think of who you are." the voice of his former mate rang in his head.
"Stop!" he growled, clawing the air. Hopeshatter was nothing to him anymore. -- ] |

Shadowstalker quietly padded through the pine tree forest of ShadowClan. Camp had bored her, so she decided to take herself out and go to the only place that ment something to her in the plain territory. Of coarse, it was the one place where no other cat would probably ever want to go. The worst tree in the territory. The burnt one. The Burnt Sycamore. The two had alot in common. They were both alone, lonly, but still strong. The roots of the blackened tree were long dead, but wouldn't budge one bit. She had even heard the nursery story about when the lightningstrike killed the once beautiful tree. It was the largest tree in the whole ShadowClan territory. It was about a stormy night, when one bold cat witnessed the lightning bolt that destroyed the sycamore. Shadowstalker was only an apprentice, but never heard it as a kit because she was kitted in a soft two-leg nest.
"Stop!"
Lost in her thoughts, Shadowstalker stopped abruptly in her path. Her pelt fluffed up to twice her size because she had a medium lengh pelt. She looked around, but tipped her head back to look up to a cat near the top of her burned tree. Well, she couldn't really call it hers, because obveously the territory was shared by the whole of ShadowClan. But she thought of it as hers.
The dark she-cat let her fur fall back to her smallish frame, as the scent of the cat driffted into her nose. Oh, it's only a ShadowClan tom. An angry one at that... Shadowstalker made up her mind to confront this cat, and see what in the name of StarClan he was doing. As far as she could tell, no one else was up there, so who could he be talking to? Like a squirrel, Shadowstalker scaled her way up the tree, and settled in a branch across from the gray tom. "Well? What do you think you're doing up here, you lizard-brain?" Her hiss was as mystyrious as the wispering wind. Her tellow and green eyes bore into the blue ones the tom had.

[ -- "I'm climbing." ColdCry spat, sitting as far away from Shadowstalker as he possibly could. He was always uncomfortable around other cats. Especially cats who were not kind. He watched a small branch fall to the ground, burnt and crumbling to ashes. He narrowed his eyes, preparing to speak again.

Shadowstalker was strangly amused by this tom's bad temper and purred. "Well, at the moment, you seem to be sitting." She looked him up and down, letting him know she was 'making sure' he clearly was not climbing. The wind picked up, and the branches make a creaking sound near the top, where the two cats were socializing.
"Oh? Me?" Her mood changed to a bit of sadness and glumness. I... Um... Well I was-" She did't know how to explain her situation, and didn't feel like telling this hostile tom what her deal was.

[ -- (Making a new header-type-thing like this.)
ColdCry blinked, looking straight at Shadowstalker, "I didn't come here looking to be corrected." he replied, "In fact, I came here to be alone." His icy eyes were tinged with annoyance and he clawed the trunk of the tree.
A breeze ruffled his lightly colored fur, the greenleaf breeze mixing with the natural chill of ShadowClan. The temperature of the air within the territory was cold. Always seemed cold. Or humid. -- ] [/center]

Shdaowstalker's eyes flared with anger as Coldcry said, "In fact, I came here to be alone."
She wanted to stick his face into his, but knew that would only make his mod worse. Well, how could his moond get any worse? Her tail flicked back and fourth, unsure of what to do next. Insdead, she looked off into the distance, and watched birds fly, ShadowClan cats hunt, and the territories besides her own. A tear welled in her eye, but quickly licked her paw and sent it over her face to look like she was groming it.
"I came here to be alone, too. I never thought another cat would take interest in it..." Shadowstalker replied, in a small, wispery mew. Her insides felt like they were going to fall apart. But why? Why did she feel sorrow for this bad tempered tom? He wasn't worth the effort. At all. She backed away from him, but remembeing she was in a tree. Her back leg slipped away, leaving bare wood where her claws swippied. She regained her balance, and just sat on the branch, letting the wind move it to its desire.

"You are not going to get sympathy from me." the voice of ColdCry was mellow, but full of his meaning to his words. His tail twitched with annoyance. His heart was cold. He didn't need anyone to give sympathy to. His life was once destroyed because of it.
ColdCry sat on the burnt part of the trunk, being able to see the whole territory. He ignored it, his full attention on Shadowstalker, wondering why at all she would ever bother talking to him. He was hostile. Mean.

Shadowstalker glared at Coldcry, fire in her eyes. "Well I'm so sorry for talking to my clanmate! And I wouldn't dwell on your mate's death! I'm sure she misses you, Coldcry. But that doesn't mean you can't talk to another cat without being so... COLD!"
She lashed her tail, and let her hackles spike. It made her look big, and with her mood, vicious. Shadowstalker may not be the most outgoing cat, but she surly wasn't affraid to show her emotions.
(OOC: His mate died, right? I just want to make sure, otherwise I'll change it.)

"You don't know, okay?" he growled, his eyes cold and narrow. His fur prickled and he itched to get away. "You don't have to be so cold either."
ColdCry was really done with Shadowstalker. Hopeshatter wouldn't approve of her. He definitely didn't. The sky darkened over head, and he looked away, keeping himself from saying leave me alone. It would only spark her pitiless anger even more and he wanted to fade away.

"No, I don't know." She looked off into the distance again, and though about what he had just said.
"You don't have to be so cold either."
She looked back at him, and cocked her head with a little anger, and confusion. "I'm not the one being cold. And I wasn't looking for an argument either. She looked down at the groud from her high perch. She shook her head. "I was looking for a friend," She paused, and looked back up again. "but I guess I'll have to look somewhere else..." Her words drifted off into the wind, cutting the channel from her sharp words.

"but I guess I'll have to look somewhere else..."
"Maybe you should, instead of wasting your time with someone who doesn't and won't care about your troubles." ColdCry replied solemnly, well thought out. His words drifted of into the wind, and in that moment he seemed to realize that without his clanmates he would be nothing. He would be dead.
But who was he to admit that he might need someone to push him on? He was too stubborn for that. ColdCry pushed the thought away from his mind and focused on reality.
Feeling kind of bad for darkening Shadowstalker's mood, he relaxed, waiting for her reply. Instantly ColdCry regretted what he had said moments before and let the chilly air and dark sky carry away the regrets hanging on his back like a tick.

Shadowstalker just smiled, even though his response wasn't very nice. She almost knew, though, he could use a friend. She didn't want to leave just yet, for she as well, needed someone to call a friend. "Maybe I will another day. But right now, since I'm here, I might as well stay. I like this place too much to let you stand in my way. "
Shadowstalker wasn't moving. Even if the tom didn't wan. Her around, the tree Kent more to her than he probably ever would. Even if they did become friends, which at the moment, seemed highly doubtful. The black she-cat looked at the horizon. The sun was starting to set, showing off it's beautiful colors in the sky. Surprisingly, Shadowstalker started to purr. It wasnt loud, but loud enough for Coldcry to hear, since he was only a few mouse-legths away from her nose. "Look. Pretty, isn't it?"
She completely forgot that the gray tom was ever rude to her. This is what she lived to see. Being here, now, with a mean cat wasn't so bad only because the sky was so beautiful.

"Hope.." he muttered to himself, the sunset sparking a memory he only wanted to forget. Instead of looking out into the setting sun, ColdCry looked down into the fog crowding the woods and mottling his vision. That was what he felt like. Sunsets were just a daily routine, every day, every night, over and over.
His lightly colored fur lie flat and he pondered how he would get down, thought at the moment escaping was not on his mind. But neither was staying. ColdCry was confused. Yet again, he pushed his unusual thoughts away and let the fog dampen his pelt.
The birds had all returned to their dens while the two cats watched the fog and the sunset. Every animal was sleeping, safely and reassured of their tomorrow. ColdCry should be reassured that his tomorrow will be what he knows it to be; but is routine always the best choice?

Shadowstalker pricked her ear as Coldcry mentioned something to himself. She looked back at him, her eyes wanting to go back to the sunset. She cocked her head, and her eyes softened. She felt a little sorrow for him, but didn't want to let it show too much. She thought for a moment, thinking of what she could do to brighten his day, just a little.
She cleared her throat and meowed in a smooth tone, "Hey, do you, um, want to help me train Stormpaw tomorrow? I want to teach him fighting, and he can be a handful." She looked at him akwardly, hoping he would say something a little more positive or nice this time.
The dark she-cat thought of her apprentice. She was sure he would come out to be a fine warrior, as long as she defined dissapline to him. He could be a though cat, but nonetheless, a good cat at heart.

"Uh, sure." ColdCry replied, reluctantly. He wanted to go back to camp. His icy eyes were still focused on the ground. It was odd that she'd ask him to help train her own apprentice.
